The possible appearance of the Tower of Babel was discussed by the expert
The tower remains one of the most mysterious stories in the Bible. For years it was debatable whether the Tower was a real, physical thing. Many believed it was merely symbolic and acted as a message to the Bible’s dedicated followers.
Others claimed it was just folklore or legend.
The fragile ruins of the ancient city of Babylon in present-day Iraq have revealed many secrets; The largest of the discoveries of a large structure suggested by ancient records was the Tower of Babel.
These texts, and others found all over the Middle East where Christianity arose, gave scholars an idea of what the building might look like.
Yet none of them gave the researchers a clear outline or explanation tied to the solid images.

Things changed in 2017 when academics were granted access to a privately owned tablet.
The artifact was discovered during the Smithsonian Channel’s ‘Secrets: Tower of Babel’ documentary.
Here, the narrator said: “Inscribed on the tablet is an image that sensationally reveals exactly what the Tower of Babel looks like.”
Dr Andrew George, a specialist in ancient texts at SOAS, University of London, said: “This is very strong evidence that the biblical story of the Tower of Babel was inspired by this real building.”

Ancient history: The plate was held in a private collection before it was deciphered.
The extraordinary tablet, which has never been filmed before, dates to the 6th century BC and was discovered in Babylon more than a century ago.
Still, no one realized how important it was until Professor George gave the plaque and deciphered the inscriptions.
“At the top there is a relief showing a stepped tower.
“And here is a large human figure with a conical hat carrying a staff.

Tower of Babel: The plaque showed clear carvings of the tower and its creator
Latest archeology: Dr Andrew George spoke through inscriptions
“Below this relief is the text carved into the monument and the label is easy to read: ‘Temple tower of the city of Babylon’.”
As the narrator puts it: “This tablet provides the first view of the actual Tower of Babel.
“It confirms that the building was a Mesopotamian stepped tower and shows seven floors of the ancient megastructure.
“Importantly, it also makes clear the man behind it: Mesopotamia’s most famous rule, King Nebuchadnezzar II.”

While the images are spectacular, the ancient text of the tablet also revealed a detailed account of the tower’s construction.
And more importantly, he goes on to describe how Nebuchadnezzar built it.
Professor George translated the text of the documentary and said: “From the Upper Sea, which is the Mediterranean, to the Lower Sea, and this reads as far as the Persian Gulf, ‘The distant lands and the populous people of the settlements I am mobilizing. To build this building of this ziggurat of Babylon. for.”
Bible stories: The description of the tower was almost the same as in the Bible
The ancient account is the same as the Biblical story of how the Tower of Babel was built.
For scientists, the tablet provides further evidence that the Tower is not just a work of fiction, but a real building from ancient times.
