Brushes to raise awareness about male cancers

Jesenice – Movember is an international movement that aims to raise public awareness of health and diseases affecting people. Thus, the men who received the support of this month allowed the mustache to grow and the campaign was also supported by supporters & # 39; were symbolically marked and photographed with them. On the initiative of the Jesenice Health Center, employees created awareness of male cancers, while others who participated in the Jesenice Health Center took photos with mustache to support the actions.

Ksenija Noč, head of the Health Education Center, said seven thousand men in Slovenia were diagnosed each year with cancer. The most common cancer in men, especially in the elderly, is prostate cancer diagnosed by 1,500 men every year. Male cancer includes colon and rectum, skin and lung cancer. According to Ksenija Noč, colorectal cancer is more common in older men, while cancer is mostly a disease of young men, and men aged between twenty and forty are also ill. As with all other cancers, the most important is early diagnosis, participation in Svit program, regular self-examination aimed at detecting secret bleeding in the stool. . .
