The 6-month ROBOR index, which was used to calculate the interest rates of variable yield leu loans, dropped from 3.50% to 3.49% yesterday. For nine months, the ROBOR 9-month index, which represents the interest rate from the commercial banks from other commercial banks, has declined from 3.58% to 3.56% yesterday. In addition, the 12-month ROBOR index, which represents the interest rate on commercial banks' loans taken by commercial banks for a period of 12 months, fell to 3.61% from 3.64% on Monday. ROBOR represents the average interest rate borrowed by Romanian banks in the lei. The index is set daily as the arithmetic average of the quoted rates of 10 banks selected by the NBR.
