The Bigos 4 rocket from SpaceNore in Gdynia opened on November 2, 2018 at Babie Doły's military airport. The initiative was a complete success.
SpaceForest announced on November 2, 2018 the first flight of the new Bigos 4 rocket on its facebook profile, and the experiment took place at the military airport in Babie Dołach, north of Gdynia, in agreement with the flight control tower. Flight passed smoothly. The engine recorded the correct operation and the rocket reached the set ceiling and recovered without any damage. SpaceForest, motivated by success, plans more test flights.
The BIGOS 4 research rocket is one of the first steps in the SUR (Suborbital Inexpensive Rocket) project to create rocket for suborbital missions and load up to 50 kg up to 150 km. This is a 1: 2 scale SIR vehicle model. The dimensions of 5.5 m have a diameter of 204 mm, weighs 65 kg without propellants and the initial mass is 100 kg. The maximum expected speed is 600 m / s (Ma 1.9). The BIGOS 4 must be able to fly again within 72 hours.

SpaceForest relies on the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia and employs more than 25 people. So far, Gdynia has built several test missiles including rockets, the entire Bigos rocket family (Bigos, Bigos 2, Bigos 3 and the newest Bigos 4) and the Candle-2 rocket used for testing in the DEWI European Commission project.
