Former VIF player Luton Shelton dies



Jamaican Luton Shelton was found dead in his home Friday. He confirms several Jamaican media.

For more than two years, the former attacker has been battling the incurable ALS.

The disease destroys nerves in the spinal cord and brain, so the patient gradually loses control of the muscles controlled by will.

Shelton leaves behind a wife and three children.

According to Jamaica’s online newspaper CNW, in 2018 the former VIF player received a check from the Jamaica Sports Association of around NOK 50 million.

Luton Shelton played 59 matches for Vålerenga and scored 17 goals. He became the cup champion in 2008 with blue jerseys.

He won 75 internationally and scored 35 goals for Jamaica.
