Nikita Tu-Bryant began his career as a theater director with a song.

Tide Waiting For Human: Grace The Wellington-based musician wrote a song about the feelings he experienced after the death of a family member and arrived five years later.

Tu-Bryant follows Grace, a Taiwanese-Kiwi who deals with the semi-autobiographical story of cultural patriarchy and engages in the teachings of Yè-Ye (Mandarin for his grandfather) in modern New Zealand.

While the story clearly draws Asian references, he believes he will have a chord with a wider audience.

People naturally discovered and accepted different values ​​as their natural environment expanded beyond the family environment. Tu-Bryant, often conflicting sets of faith in reconciliation is not specific to any group of people, he said.

Tu-Bryant conceptualized the last iteration of the story that was written for many years.

Working with Auckland based Proudly Asian Theater, production takes place in Bats Theater in Wellington in December.

Tu-Bryant is the first example of his hopes, the five installments of my grandfather's personality that rippled despite the experience of different members of the family.

Production will be based on. Non-verbal lac and choreographed movements, shadow and object puppetry on Tu-Bryant's music.
