Covid-19: places of interest in the Delta outbreak – October 16

An Auckland laundry, playground and chicken takeaway are the latest additions to the Health Department’s list of areas of interest linked to the Covid-19 Delta community outbreak.

Anyone who visits the Royal Laundry in Takanini between 13:00 and 17:00 on Thursday is urged to stay home and get tested immediately.

A person with Covid-19 was also at ChickHEN Republic in Mt Wellington from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm daily on October 10, 11 and 12.

Also added to the attractions is the Dale Playground in Manurewa, from 8:45am to 10:45pm on October 9th.

Earlier on Saturday, Fresh Choice Ranui and Ōtara Unichem Pharmacy were added to the list.

Visitors to places during these hours are required to pay attention to symptoms for 14 days and to be tested if they feel unwell.

A Waitematā DHB spokesperson said on Friday that Waitākere Hospital’s emergency room was added to the list after a person returned a positive Covid-19 test “several days” after being there.

Anyone present there between 8:14 p.m. and 8:36 p.m. on October 9 should be immediately isolated and tested for Covid.

They must stay at home until a negative result is obtained and continue in isolation until 24 hours after the symptoms disappear.

“No staff has been dismissed due to this incident and the hospital is operating normally,” the spokesperson said.

Unichem Sunnynook on the North Coast and supermarkets across Auckland were also added to the list on Friday.

These were the Pak’nSave Silverdale, New World Birkenhead and Countdown supermarkets in Glenfield, Warkworth, Lynnmall, Kelston, Lynfield, Papakura and Ponsonby.

There are 451 outbreak-related points of interest across Auckland, Waikato and Northland.
