The two Hilversummers, who were arrested on August 24, are suspected of attempted murder and attempted open violence at a restaurant in El Arenal, Spain, on July 14. The prosecution also suspects that these people were committing violence in the late evening on the boulevard of the tourist resort. As a result of the violence, 27-year-old Carlo Heuvelman from Waddinxveen died and several others were injured.
Six suspects have been arrested so far. Four of them are suspected of being partners in the murder. In August, the court decided to extend the detention period of the three suspects previously arrested by 90 days.
The sixth suspect will appear in court next week. After three months of detention, the first public hearing, which is usually expected to take place in the first half of November, follows.
