(CercleFinance.com) – Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), announced the successful completion of the first working phase of Europe’s HydRON project (High Efficiency Optical Space Network). Space Agency (ESA).
“Laser links will revolutionize satellite communications, and ESA’s HydRON optical network will seamlessly connect satellites to terrestrial fiber networks, providing reliable and instantaneous connectivity for the benefit of European citizens around the world,” says Thales Alenia Space.
HydRON is a high-speed optical space network that is part of ESA’s ScyLight secure laser link technology program. This initiative will therefore contribute to Europe’s technological independence in connectivity services in space (‘Fiber in the Sky’ / Internet beyond the Cloud) and the expansion of their capabilities into new services and applications.
