Moroccan researcher Younes Chami received Cairo's 2017 Music Production Award


Younes Chami, a Moroccan researcher in the music industry, received the 2017 music production award from the Arab League for the Music of the Arab League for his work on music in Andalusia in Cairo.

The award was awarded by the Egyptian Minister of Culture, Head of the Arab Music Academy Inas Abdel-Dayem, at a ceremony held at the Cairo Opera.

The National Music Institute of the Jordanian King Hussein Foundation received an award for institutions and music groups.

Professor Younes Chami, a research fellow in the field of music in Morocco, has held various pedagogical and administrative positions in the Ministry of Education and Culture.

In addition to his musical legacy, he has published studies on history and music education.

For the first time in 1999, the Academy Awards recognized individuals, institutions, or music groups working with the protection of Arab music, in particular the preservation of Arab music heritage, and the dissemination of music. Strengthen the active role of humanitarian service in Arab, regional or international level and cooperation in music sector.
