(Caracas, 7 August. News24) .- Health is something that all people should pay attention to, To maintain a healthy body and mind, maintaining a good diet and exercising is vital in our lives.

Although some believe that factors are linked to genetic diseases or inevitable events, causes of death are more related to bad habits than external factors.

We bring it to you today five habits that only reduce our life expectancy, however, they can be risk factors when developing different diseases.

1. loneliness

According to Julianne Holt-Lunstad, a professor of psychology at Brigham Young University, loneliness is equivalent to 15 cigarettes a day to reduce life expectancy.

2. Sedentary

A 2014 study published in the journal of the National Cancer Institute of the United States reveals that sitting all day increases the risk of developing different types of cancer.

3. Lack of sleep

In 2015, Professor Valery Gafarov of the World Health Organization said that lack of sleep could increase the risk of stroke or heart attack.

4. Tan

A study published in JAMA in 2014 found that the use of tanning booths increases the risk of skin cancer more than lung cancer than tobacco.

5. Bad food

The United States Committee on Agriculture and Feeding Systems published a survey in 2016: Deaths caused by a poor diet outweigh deaths caused by alcohol, drugs, sexually transmitted diseases and tobacco.
