Ronan Keating said he felt ‘helpless’ after his wife, Storm, was hospitalized for emergency surgery.

Ronan Keating said he felt “helpless” when his wife Storm was admitted to the hospital for emergency spine surgery.

9-year-old Storm had a frightening week after being hospitalized with a prolapsed disc rising to Cauda Equina Syndrome, a condition that affects the nerve roots at the base of the spinal cord.

He needed emergency surgery on his spine to prevent permanent damage, and he came home from the hospital on Saturday.

Ronan (44) has since praised his wife’s bravery in an Instagram post, saying that Storm has “crazy” power.

The singer wrote: “This was a week I never wanted to live again. Keeping my storm in the hospital in the harshest conditions and not being able to see him and holding his hand and hugging him and telling him that everything will be fine was the hardest thing I knew.

I felt so helpless, his strength is insane. The attention and expertise he received was incredible. Thank you Aftab and the whole team, you brought him home today. He’s getting better and I’m very grateful. What a wonderful day to return home, thank God he made it ”he continued.

Saturday was a big day for the Keating family, as Storm returned from the hospital the day the couple’s daughter Coco returned.

She shared a cute photo of the smiling baby in the family kitchen and added some happy words wishing her a happy birthday.

He said: “Very happy birthday to our Beany Bum. This little bum has been the light of our darkest time. It was born under lock and key, and now we celebrate your first birthday under the same circumstances, but you never stop smiling and loving around you.

“Thanks Coco for all of you and for everything you’ve done to us. We are very lucky to be in our lives. Let’s pop a bottle, raise a glass and celebrate living, ”he added.

Proud mom Storm posted a sweet video on Instagram of her daughter recovering from surgery.

He wrote: “Happy 1st birthday for our little sunshine… our little Coco Bean. There has been an explosion of emotions today for so many wonderful reasons.

I love this girl with all my heart – neither soul nor sparkle. I’m very excited about the future ahead for this little firework and the proudest mummy in the world. I love you Coco Knox Keating – unconditionally and always. ”
