The locals in Knocklyon, Dublin, want to plan to build 42 social houses on football pitches.
The South Dublin County Council will soon vote on an offer to improve the site at Ballycullen Park.
Knocklyon United football club president Donal Skelly told the Herald that 500 children are using pitches every weekend and the number is growing.
This "Register Sites" meeting will take place tonight.
What started? #saveourpitches now turns into #saveourclub. A public meeting on the future of our bright club. All club members and the community are very important. You need all the support we can get. @faıreland pic.twitter.com/ionhjplcvv
