Zenfone 5 Series mobile phone will get Android Pie 9.0 update



I Bisnis.co, JAKARTA – Asus has now released the Android 9.0 Pie operating system update for the line of ZenFone 5 Series phones.

The ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5Q users will be able to enjoy the latest Android operating system in the near future.

Jimmy Lin, Asus Indonesia Country Manager, said that the operating system update will be automatically distributed over the firmware (FOTA). For the ZenFone 5, there will be an update at the beginning of Q1 / 2019, the ZenFone 5Z and the ZenFone 5Q at the end of January 2019.

Android 9.0 ZenFone 5 Series users automatically receive a notification when pie update is available. Users can also download the update directly with the FOTA method to begin the installation process.

When the update finishes downloading, a notification is displayed and the user can start updating. The installation of Android 9.0 Pie update will take a few minutes and the device will restart twice.

Asus also offers a manual update option for devices that do not receive Android 9.0 Cake notification via FOTA. This manual update will be available one week later to update via FOTA. This manual update procedure is provided to enable all ZenFone 5 Series devices to receive Android Pie operating system updates.

The manual update procedure is also very easy to access from the Settings> System> System Updates menu. The system will check the availability of the update and the user will be able to install it immediately. During the installation process, the device will be restarted twice.
