Samsung showed the prototype of a foldable smartphone during the company's annual developer conference in San Francisco. The next-generation smartphone also features a new continuity feature that allows applications or external display running on the external display to be expanded to a 7.3-inch display when the device is turned on.

In the near future, Samsung will not be the only smartphone manufacturer to launch its foldable smartphones. A number of manufacturers including Huawei and LG are working on foldable smartphones.
