Tesla is looking for dedicated customer service representatives who need to protect CEO Elon Musk from critical trolls on social media.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is getting a lot of attention from the media and social platforms these days. Not always in a positive way, many criticize him.
Musk is getting so many complaints now that Tesla decided to hire workers whose job it was to protect the manager from trolls. They need to identify embarrassing situations on social media and respond to them with critical thinking. This is an unusual traction even in the tech industry.
According to Tesla’s official website, such a job could otherwise be done remotely, full-time. Such customer service representatives will be employed as “Energy Customer Support Specialists”.
Anyway, there are not many requirements for potential employees: be a team player and have a year of experience in a call center. However, they see the professional attitude that will be needed important, as Musk receives so much criticism on every platform.
Update: The news has been removed by many trusted business sources, including Business Insider. As Tesla began to spread looking for someone to deal with Musk’s tense situations and criticisms, the company moved away from its original idea and removed the key phrase from the ad text within 24 hours, writing:
“The role of an expert is to resolve or escalate complaints through appropriate channels and to address the CEO’s social media escalations with critical thinking.
