The removal of Carlos Ghosn was decided unanimously by the Japanese company's supervisory board.

On Thursday, the company dismissed Carlos Ghos, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Nissan Motor Co., Inc. The meeting also decided to remove another board member, Greg Kelly. Currently, both are in advance.

The president and CEO of Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi Automotive Industry, Carlos Ghosn and Kelly, were arrested on Monday on charges of Japanese financial and stock market violations. In his report to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Carlos Ghosn reported 5 billion yen (40 million euros) less than his actual earnings in five years, and also used other financial irregularities and company resources for his own financial situation.

Carlos Ghosn started his career as a Renault delegate to Nissan in June 1999 and resigned from the bankruptcy. In 2000, he became chairman of Nissan and then in 2001, until 2017, he served as the general manager.

Nissan's nine-member supervisory board is the five executives of Nissan, as well as two representatives from Renault and an "independent" former government official and a car racer. The Supervisory Board decided unanimously.

However, the Renault Supervisory Board failed to save Carlos Ghosn from his post at a meeting Wednesday, but appointed a deputy to replace him. The French state has a 15 percent stake in the Renault automobile plant. The Mitsubishi Motors Supervisory Board, a third member of the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi Automotive Association, will decide in the next week's meeting of Carlos Ghosn.

Renault has a 43.4% stake in Nissan and Nissan holds 15% of its shares in the Renault car factory. Japanese and French finance ministers met in Paris on Thursday to discuss the fate of the Automotive Alliance. According to their indicators, both sides want the alliance to be maintained and stabilized.
