I wrote – Bahira Fouda:
An argument broke out recently between festival singers Hamo Beka and Omar Kamal.
Festival artist Omar Kamal confirmed that he does not intend to offend his colleague Hamo Beka, saying that he is not good at singing on the “Al-Hekaya” program with Amr Adib.
In his live broadcast on his Facebook page, Kamal said, “I wasn’t wrong with anyone… I mean, you don’t know how to sing, I mean maqam and music, you fulfill a certain need.”
He added that the Music Professions Syndicate has members who are not good at singing, such as “DJ, rap and monologue” members: “Not everyone is classified as a singer.
Festival artist Hamo Beka attacked him after his colleague Ömer Kamal said that he could not sing on the “Al-Hekaya” program with Amr Adib.
In a live broadcast on her Facebook page, Beca said, “You say you got 70-80 million views… I forgot you made a song that didn’t get 10,000 views in the first place… You see, you’re telling me I don’t know how to sing.”
I regret singing with someone like you.. I don’t do anything else with you.. If I don’t know how to sing never.. You used to work for me, for example!
“Beca” challenged her colleague to bring a group of fans to see who couldn’t sing, explaining that “Kamal” was quickly losing her breath and was struggling to record any song.
The Music Professions Syndicate announced at the end of last June that it prohibited action with five festival artists, led by Hama Beka, until their status in the union was corrected and the exams were passed.
