The General Directorate of Drug Control has launched a campaign in the areas of addiction treatment centers in Cairo and Tetovo and initiated the detection of school bus drivers to ensure that narcotics are not being used.
The campaigns resulted in the capture of 5 addictive treatment centers in Mokattam in Cairo and the transitional area in Qalioubia, and a number of violations were found during the investigation:
Lack of license of the Free Therapy Department.
Not receiving approval from the National Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Council.
Lack of permission from civil defense.
Lack of waste trade contract.
Lack of medical team.
Absence of patient files or treatment of patients.
Lack of medical equipment and room (maintenance – emergency – rescue).
Performing unlicensed medical activities.
In the same context, the ministry examined 406 school bus drivers in 31 schools in Cairo province in a campaign to combat drug use among school bus drivers.
