In the Prague – Czech Republic, there are 20,000 patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) with more than 13,000 treatment data in the ReMus registry by 2018. More than 70 percent of patients are women. On average, the disease appeared as early as 31 years. The cause of this chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system has not yet been discovered, but according to doctors, it can save 30 years of active life and timely treatment may be correct. Patients are also assisted by modern drugs called expensive biological therapy. Thus, according to CTK findings, health insurance companies are strictly checking whether this is prescribed only to patients who can be proved in a way that can be proven.

Data are sent to the registry by 15 centers specialized in the treatment of the disease. "About 75 percent of patients under the age of 65 work and work full-time or part-time. The third depends on disability salary.

According to experts, the difference in incapacity for work often means the type of treatment used. Most biologically treated patients do more than 56 percent of patients and only a quarter of those without it, without social support from the state.

Biological drugs affect molecules and processes that are typical of cells associated with cancer or autoimmune diseases and are absent or only marginal in healthy cells. Thus, biological drugs enhance or repair the body's ability to defend itself.

Multiple sclerosis is one of the diagnoses that cannabis can be prescribed in the Czech Republic. MEPs are discussing an amendment to the Public Health Insurance Act, which will allow patients to pay 90 percent of the insurance. Most patients have chronic pains that are not taken by other drugs. About 70 prescribed doctors will prescribe.

In addition to appropriate treatment, exercise slowing the progression of the disease is very important for the quality of life of the patients. Symptoms include mobility problems, stiffness, fatigue, or loss of sensitivity. Participants in Prague's medical hackathon have been working on projects to help patients with exercise or rehabilitation since Friday.
