Space station takes delivery of 2 cargo within 15 hours of record


CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – International Space Station received two cargo deliveries within a record 15 hours.

A US commercial shipment came to the market two days after it exploded in Virginia. NASA Astronaut Serena Aunon Chancellor used the robot arm of the space station to retrieve Northrop Grumman's capsule. He was named after the Apollo 16 moonwalker and the first space shuttle commander, John Young, who died in January.

The German commander Alexander Gerst said, "Welcome, S.S. John Young!"

On Sunday, a Russian supply ship brought full load.

NASA said it was the fastest return shipments for the space station that showed its 20th anniversary on Tuesday. Supply vessels will remain there for several months before being trashed and loosely cut.
