On-demand HIV testing is currently available in all Internal Health laboratories – Ashcroft Cache Creek Journal

Testing for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has become easier for those living in the Ministry of Interior (IH). Demand Demand test was performed in all IH laboratories (http://bit.ly/2PD39aL).

Patients can now visit any IH laboratory, including laboratories at Ashcroft Hospital, Lillooet Hospital and Clinton Health and Health Center, and receive HIV testing without first visiting their physician or doctors. Patients can fill a laboratory request on their own, take it to the lab, ask the laboratory for testing, or ask the patient to take the test for the current blood test.

Health Minister Adrian Dix, "early diagnosis and treatment of care and thanks to HIV is a chronic, manageable situation," he says. ”The first step is to find out if you have HIV and therefore I applaud Internal Health to make HIV testing more accessible to British Colombians.“

The On Demand HIV test began in 2016 in Inner Okan with an innovative partnership with Valley Medical Laboratories in Okanagan. Based on the success of this program, Interior Health is excited to expand the service in the region.

Merkezli Internal Health is committed to providing people with accessible and patient-centered care to respect their dignity and privacy, ıştır says Doug Cochrane, Home Health Board President.

Mel By eliminating the barriers to testing and enabling people to be tested according to their own circumstances, we will make it easier for individuals who evaluate HIV as positive to have access to the care they need, “he said.

Early diagnosis is vital to HIV treatment, but one in four living with HIV does not know this.

Son When people have easy access to the HIV test, they're more willing to be tested, ine says Maja Karlsson, Internal Health Manager at Harm Reduction and Health Outreach. ”I recommend to test everyone as part of the health routine for HIV.“

Patients who wish to test in an IH laboratory will be informed about the test and follow-up process for both negative and positive results. The results can be obtained two weeks after the test is performed. There is no additional follow-up for patients who are negative. Patients who are positive will be contacted by a nurse who will be referred to support, education, follow-up care and a doctor if necessary.

Non-nominal testing for HIV is not performed with the On Demand program. If a patient wants to test them without names, this can be done by a family physician or a nurse practitioner.

On-demand HIV testing is a partnership between the Internal Health Laboratory Services and the STOP HIV program, which aims to reduce contamination and improve the health outcomes of people living with HIV.
