A driver who claims to have escaped from an accident scene and leaves his passenger trapped in the overturned vehicle is now facing charges.
Police were summoned to the single-car accident on Valley Road in Corner Brook on November 2nd, just after 4 am.
They found that the female passenger was trapped in the overturned Pontiac Vibe, but no driver. He was seriously injured and safely removed and taken to hospital as a precaution.
On November 17, the Royal Newfoundland Const held a 23-year-old man accusing him of not staying at the scene of the accident and forbidding driving.
He is scheduled to appear in the Corner Brook state court in January.
