The 13-year-old from Toronto, the podium, out of competition with a total score of 233.58. He was the youngest skater to compete in the men's event.
Spor I can't believe I've won this competition yet, & said Gogolev, after CBC's victory over Brenda Irving.

Russia's Petr Gumennik finished second with 218.75, and Japan's Koshiro Shimada team took the podium with 214.38.
Gogolev was second with 78.82 points after the short program on Thursday, but showed a striking performance on Friday's free program. The 154.76 score suggested it at first.
Gogolev said, ığ I tried not to think about everyone, G and told how he focussed on competition. "Just think about your performance, think about your skate and don't care about anything else."
I would think of the first of many major international GOLD medals for this young man … 13-year-old Stephen Gogolev CAN Champion Junior GP Final 2018 Congratulations! @cbcsports @cbc @cbcolympics in @skatecana #cbcskat to @ısu_figur to pic.twitter.com/a0ysanuvxb
