The company said that two new facilities will operate about 50,000 people in total. There are already a few thousand people working in Arlington, New York and Amazon.
The company's office is in Seattle. "Amazon's investment in each of the two new facilities will encourage the creation of tens of thousands of additional jobs in the surrounding municipalities," he said, adding that recruitment will begin next year.
There was concern that the choice of cities for Amazon's new headquarters would affect the limited housing market and transportation systems.
The Mayor of New York, Twitter, "will take tens of thousands of new, well-paid jobs in New York, and Amazon will have the most skilled workforce in the world." Bill de Blasio.
The Amazon statement said it will receive a tax credit under the $ 1.2 billion special tax reduction program in New York. Arlington and Virginia offer $ 573 million in incentives.
The company said it will have a new Amazon center in Nashville, Tennessee that will employ 5,000 people.
Initially, 200 cities and municipalities offered to accept the new center. Amazon fell to 20 in January this year. / BTA
