The Ministry of Health provided more than 300,000 gunmen impregnated with long-lasting insecticides to combat malaria in the Amazon Region. The region intensifies 80% of registered disease cases in the country. In total, 34 municipalities of the municipalities of Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Pará, Rondônia and Roraima will receive guns and participate in 364,500 people. More than 1 million gunmen were deployed in the Amazon region in 2011 and 2012. As an effective strategy for the prevention and control of malaria, the Ministry of Health has adopted this strategy in order to make the gains and annual distribution of this input. In order to intensify the actions to combat and control the disease, in 2016, R $ 11.9 million was transferred to nine states in the Amazon region to initiate the local restructuring of prevention actions to acquire and distribute equipment and vehicles to priority municipalities. and malaria control.
