BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas claimed today that the Election Commission has not accepted her candidacy for the Dhaka-9 constituency.
Mirza Abbas' personal secretary, Mizanur Rahman Sohel, told The Daily Star, "The retiring officer did not accept the nomination for Dhaka-9."
In other news, BNP leader Dhaka-8 nominated her nomination and her husband, Afroza Abbas, has submitted a nomination for Dhaka-9.
Abbas presented his candidates through representatives.
The Daily Star was unable to comment on the commission about this.
