Former Brisbane Broncos captain Corey Parker was reportedly dismissed from the team’s coaching roster, alleging that he had withdrawn without being officially told by head coach Kevin Walters.
Parker served as assistant coach to Anthony Seibold during the turbulent 2020 season as the Broncos completed the end of the NRL ladder.
After Seibold left the role in August, he claimed that the 347-game big player Walters consulted him on the team before and after he was head coach.

Speaking to Peter Badel of The Courier-Mail, however, Parker explained that he was never officially aware of his dismissal, but instead discovered that he was fired after calling Walters personally earlier this year.
The 53-year-old actor hired John Cartwright and Terry Matterson as his assistants for 2021.
“In my interviews with Kevvie (late last year), Parker told The Courier-Mail that he wanted me to be involved and loved what I did.
“We all had the (Christmas) holiday and no one suggested that the coaching role would not continue at any stage during this time.
“You don’t have to be an Einstein to understand what happens when the Broncos are back in education and you are not notified.
“When the new year came, I picked up the phone and called Kev to find out where I was standing, and for whatever reason he didn’t want me to join the team this year.
Despite the “disappointing” strawberry, Parker was adamant that “there is no bad blood” between the couple who won the Origin of Origin title together at the Queensland Maroons in 2016.

“Sometimes it’s hard to have honest conversations and everyone is uncomfortable doing them,” Parker told Courier-Mail.
I’m a big kid and I’ve known these people for years. It shouldn’t be difficult to communicate or be transparent.
“What happened, I will erase myself and continue.”
Ironically, Walters was pulled back in 2005 by the legendary Wayne Bennett as assistant coach of the Broncos.
Brisbane will face Parramatta Eels at Suncorp Stadium in its first match in 2021 on Friday, March 12.
