Moseneke proposes postponement of October local government elections
Former deputy chief judge Dikgang Moseneke recommended postponing local government elections.
“We are of the opinion that it is not reasonably possible for the elections to be held in October 2021 to be held in a free and fair manner in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and relevant legislation. It is likely that the planned elections will be free and fair. If they will be held no later than the end of February 2022.”
