Gauteng Health Department mourns Netcare team after helicopter crash

JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Ministry of Health joined the country to mourn the death of the Netcare team who tragically died in a helicopter crash in KwaZulu-Natal.

The medical rescue helicopter crashed near Bergville on Thursday and killed four paramedics and pilot.

Trying to save the life of Minister Jackson Mthembu in his office, Dr. It turned out that Rudolf Mononyane was among the five people on board.

He later delayed his flight to go to another patient in KZN after being called to help Mthembu, who died of complications with COVID-19.

Gauteng Health MEC Nomathemba Mokgethi offered his condolences on Friday to the friends, family and colleagues of the team who died on the job.

MEC spokesman Kwara Kekana: “The fatal accident resulted in the great loss of the Gauteng people and the country as a whole. On the one hand, we are fighting the coronavirus epidemic, on the other hand, we are losing our infantry and we have no time to mourn as the war continues. Now is the time to defeat this invincible enemy more than ever. “
