Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel reportedly ended their rivalry in 2019, but that doesn’t mean the Luke Hobbes actor will be returning for Fast & Furious 10 or 11.
Despite ending the fight nearly two years ago, Diesel’s recent comments seem to have opened up some of the old wounds, at least a little. Diesel recently showed Johnson “hard love” in his Fast and Furious fights, and in a new interview with SlashFilm, the actor said he laughed out loud when he heard about it, and announced that he wouldn’t be returning for the last two main lines Fast. and Angry movies.
“I laughed and laughed a lot,” Johnson said. “I think everyone laughed at that. And I’ll leave it here. And I wished them well. I wish them good luck in Fast 9 and I wish them good luck in Fast 10 and Fast 11. and the rest of the Fast and Furious movies they make will be without me.”
Things may change, but Johnson’s interpretation seems pretty clear: Universal will make Fast & Furious 10 and 11 without the Hobbes character. However, Johnson’s rendition has enough ambiguity to leave the door open to other Fast and Furious films. can include it as a sequel to Hobbes & Shaw or, if we’re lucky, Hobbs & Han (Universal, please).
SlashFilm asked Johnson this while talking about the upcoming Disney movie Jungle Cruise, so co-star Emily Blunt was there to shed some light on the situation. He said, “Thank God [Diesel] It was there” because “it got you through it”, which is the light fever between the two that has been present in many Jungle Cruises’ marketing so far.
Sad news for the family, but the next two mainline Fast & Furious movies are still years away, so who knows, maybe the two of them can open up a Corona together and make peace once again.
